About

Assalamu alaikum and welcome 🤍

I’m really grateful you’re here.

There’s a beautiful reminder that stays close to my heart, especially on the hard days:

“Take one step towards Me, and I will take ten towards you. Come towards Me walking, and I will come to you running.”

This is the mindset I carry with me as I continue learning, growing, and finding my way in Islam.

My name is Lucie. I’m originally from the Czech Republic and have been living in the UK since 2015. I embraced Islam at the end of 2019, and my life has been very different ever since—slowly, imperfectly, and very sincerely.

Before anything else, I want to be clear about one thing:
I am not a scholar, a teacher, or someone with deep formal Islamic knowledge.
I’m simply a Muslim woman sharing what I’m learning along the way—honestly, gently, and from the perspective of someone still very much on the journey.

This blog exists for those who feel like I once did: new Muslims, those curious about Islam, or anyone who wants to understand faith from a simpler, more human point of view. Think of this space as learning Islam together, without pressure, perfection, or unrealistic expectations.

When I first became Muslim, I started with very little knowledge. Alhamdulillah, I had support—but I also felt overwhelmed, confused, and sometimes completely lost. Looking back, I wish I had been kinder to myself. I wish I had understood sooner that growth takes time, that mistakes are part of learning, and that faith isn’t built overnight. Islam taught me that this journey is a marathon, not a sprint.

Through this blog, I share the guidance I wish I had at the beginning—the small, practical things that make a big difference. Simple steps. Gentle reminders. A bigger-picture view of Islam that feels achievable and life-giving, not heavy or intimidating.

Here you’ll find reflections on my experiences as a new Muslim: my first Ramadan, learning how to fast, navigating prayer, understanding the foundations of faith and exploring the Qur’an. I also write about emotional struggles, spiritual growth, and the often confusing line between culture and religion.

Islam has completely changed how I see life. I’ve fallen in love with its depth, its mercy, and its balance. I love learning, listening to Islamic talks, exploring Islamic history, and having meaningful conversations with fellow Muslims.

Life before Islam wasn’t easy, particularly during my early years in the UK. I had plans, expectations, and a clear vision of how things should look—but Allah had something very different prepared for me. Those difficult moments shaped me, humbled me, and ultimately led me here. Without them, I wouldn’t be walking this path or sharing it with you.

If you’re here feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or just curious—know that you’re not alone. We’re all learning, step by step.

Thank you for being part of this journey 🤍
