Converting to Islam
Assalamu alaikum everyone.
Welcome!!
Before I introduce myself I want you to read and remember the following…
Allah says:
Take one step towards me, I will take ten towards you. Come to me walking, I will come to you running.
This what I try to remind myself every day. This is what keeps me going when I feel down.
My goal here is to provide you with a “small guidance” that you can easily weave into your daily life. Think of it as a little roadmap that will help you on this journey of converting to Islam, something I wish I had.
Alhamdulillah, I was fortunate to have a lot of support and help along the way, but there were moments when things felt overwhelmingly complicated. Looking back, I wish I had taken a step back and embraced the process more calmly. Like many of you, I started without much experience or knowledge about what is Islamically right or wrong, what is permissible and what is not. This journey had its fair share of embarrassing moments that still make me cringe. Some of those awkward times still give me anxiety to this day! But here’s the thing: it’s all part of the process, and it’s completely normal. Most importantly, you are not alone in this. Changing your life in significant ways doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a gradual process, and you learn as you go. So, take a deep breath, be patient with yourself, and remember that every step forward, no matter how small, is progress.
Whether you’re a new Muslim, already a Muslim but struggling, someone considering embracing Islam, or just a curious soul wanting to learn more, this blog is for you! I’m here to help. My goal is to share tips and tricks that will make your life easier and less overwhelming. By implementing small, simple changes in your daily life, you can feel more at ease, content, and confident in your Islamic journey. Trust me, I’ve been there. I know how you feel. My aim is to make this transition in your life as smooth as possible.
I created this blog with the intention of helping others by sharing my personal journey of converting to Islam. Here, I’ll discuss my experiences, including my first Ramadan as a new Muslim, fasting, and learning how to pray for beginners. We’ll explore the Five Pillars of Islam, delve into the Quran, and tackle learning Arabic. I’ll also cover topics like halal and haram, the ups and downs new Muslims face, and the differences between cultural and religious practices, among many other things.
I’m here to give the best possible advice that I can, I won’t say or share what I don’t know. I’m not a scholar, Im not a teacher, I don’t have any islamic education. But what I do have is a passion. I literally fell in love with islam and I want you to understand why! I enjoy discussing about islam with other Muslims, learning new things about this beautiful religion, listening islamic seminars, and gaining knowledge about the history of islam.
Finally, little something about me ….
My name is Lucie, and I’m originally from the Czech Republic. I’ve been living in the UK since 2015 and embraced Islam at the end of 2019.
Having lived quite independently from a young age, I had a clear vision of how my life would unfold, especially when I finally met someone and settled down. But life had other plans! The first four years in the UK felt like a roller coaster ride. There were a lot of ups and downs—probably more downs, to be honest. But you know what? I’m grateful for those experiences. They helped me learn from my mistakes and appreciate everything I have today.
If it weren’t for my past, I wouldn’t be here today, writing this blog about Islam. So, join me on this journey of converting to Islam. Let’s learn, grow, and support each other. Together, we can make this path a little easier to navigate.
