About

Assalamu alaikum everyone!

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. Before we dive in, let’s remember this beautiful reminder from Allah:

“Take one step towards me, I will take ten towards you. Come to me walking, I will come to you running.”

This powerful message is what I hold onto every day, especially when things get tough.

My name is Lucie, and I’m originally from the Czech Republic, now living in the UK since 2015. I embraced Islam at the end of 2019, and it has been a transformative journey, physically and mentally.

This blog is a space for us to navigate this path together, especially if you’re a new Muslim, considering Islam, or simply curious to learn more. Think of it as a “beginner’s guide to Islam,” with a unique perspective from someone who’s walked this path and can relate to many things.

Like many of you, I started with little to no prior knowledge. Alhamdulillah, I was blessed with so much support, but there were still moments of feeling overwhelmed and lost. Looking back, I wish I’d been kinder to myself and embraced the process with more patience. There were definitely some cringe-worthy, anxiety-inducing moments! But I’ve learned that those are simply part of the journey. Significant life changes don’t happen overnight; it’s a gradual process of learning and growth. And I had to remind myself it’s a marathon not a sprint.

My goal is to share tips and tricks to make your Islamic journey smoother and less daunting. I want to provide that “little guidance,” the roadmap I wish I had when I first started. By incorporating simple changes into your daily life, you can find more ease, contentment, and confidence.

Here, I’ll be sharing my personal experiences as a new Muslim, including my first Ramadan, learning to fast, and navigating the basics of prayer. We’ll explore the 6 articles of faith, delve into the Quran, and even tackle learning Arabic. I’ll also discuss halal and haram, the emotional ups and downs of being a new Muslim, and the distinction between cultural and religious practices.

I’ve fallen in love with this beautiful religion and want to share why. I enjoy discussing Islam with fellow Muslims, learning new things, listening to Islamic seminars, and exploring Islamic history.

My life before Islam was a rollercoaster, particularly my first four years in the UK. I had a clear vision of how my life would unfold, but Allah had other plans. Those challenging times, though difficult, taught me invaluable lessons and shaped who I am today. If it weren’t for those experiences, I wouldn’t be here, sharing this journey with you.
