- They do what Allah has ordered.
- We do not know their exact number.
- There are two Angels that are always with every person. One writes all his good deeds and the other one enters all his bad deeds. They are known as KIRAAMAN-KAATIBEEN.

- Some Angels are in charge of Heaven, some of Hell. Some of them look after children, the old, and weak, and others whom Allah wishes to protect.
- From the Quran and Hadith, we come to know that various other Angels are in charge of various other duties.
- Angles are neither male nor female.
- We know of four famous Angels.
- Hazrat Jibraeel (Alayhis Salaam)
- Hazrat Michaeel (Alayhis Salaam)
- Hazrat Izraeel (Alayhis Salaam)
- Hazrat Israfeel (Alayhis Salaam)
Hazrat Jibraeel (Alayhis Salaam) brought Allah’s Books, orders, and messages to all the Prophets. He was also sent to help the Prophets at times and fight against their enemies.
Hazrat Michaeel (Alayhis Salaam) is in charge of food and rain. Other Angels work under him and are in charge of clouds, the sea, the rivers, and the winds. He gets the order from Allah. He then orders the others under his command.
Hazrat Izraeel (Alayhis Salaam) takes away life with the order of Allah. He is in charge of death. Numerous Angels work under him. Some take away the lives of good persons whilst others looking very fearful take away the lives of sinners and disbelievers.
Hazrat Israfeel (Alayhis Salaam) will blow the Soor (trumpet) on the Day of Judgment. The sound will destroy and kill everything that is on the earth and in the skies. When he blows for the second time all will come to life with the order of Allah.
Here’s something to think about. Imagine you’re walking down the street, and the person in front of you accidentally drops £20 on the ground. What would you do? Would you pick it up, glance around to see if anyone’s watching, and, if no one seems to notice, slip it into your pocket and keep walking? Or would you return the money to the person who lost it? It’s tempting to keep the money when you think no one is watching, right? But what if you were fully aware of the two angels recording your every deed, knowing that these actions will be presented before Allah SWT on the Day of Judgment? Would you still take that money, knowing it’s not yours? I don’t think you would.
I’m convinced that if we constantly remind ourselves of things like this, our imaan (faith) will only grow stronger. When you are aware of the unseen forces around you, you’ll naturally strive to do the right thing, even when no one else is watching. Knowing that you’re always accountable, even for actions that seem hidden, encourages you to uphold your integrity in every situation.
DID YOU KNOW?
The angel responsible for recording your bad deeds holds the pen for six hours from the moment you commit a sin. If, during that time, you sincerely repent and ask Allah SWT for forgiveness, the sin will never be written down. Just think about that for a moment. Isn’t it amazing? Can you see the depth of Allah’s SWT mercy? This should inspire you to always strive to collect and protect your good deeds no matter what.
Not a day goes by without me pondering the idea that we’re surrounded by angels, invisible yet ever-present. Imagine—each of us is accompanied by two angels, one on each shoulder, silently observing and recording our every action, the good and the bad. How incredible is it that they are always with us, watching over and keeping track of our lives?
